Norway Tests Laptop Exam, to Prevent Cheating

Technology.am (May 4, 2009) — In Norway the secondary school students are given a laptop for use during coursework and also taking exams.
There are about 6,000 16-19 year-old students in Nord-Trondelag county in Norway are doing exams on their laptops.
The laptops are utilized for everyday schoolwork and come with standard software, such as word processors, spreadsheets and calculators installed, as well as subject specific applications for particular courses.

Panda Presents Cloud-Based Free Antivirus

Technology.am (Apr. 30, 2009) — Panda Security announced the global beta release of Panda Cloud Antivirus, a new protection model with lightweight thin-client agent and real-time scanning-from-the-cloud.
This is the industry’s first and only free cloud-based antivirus. It is community-based protection system automatically classifies new malware in under six minutes with 50 percent less impact on PC performance and that it handles more than 50,000 new samples per day.

University of Illinois Developed Nanoneedle

Technology.am (Apr. 29, 2009) — This is truly amazing that the thinnest human head hair is about 10,000 times thicker than recently developed nanoneedle. This is a breakthrough device with applications for biophysical research.
Researchers at the University of Illinois have developed a nanoneedle with 50 nm diameter. It was created with a rigid, but resilient, boron-nitride nanotube. The nanotube is then attached to one end of a glass pipette for easy handling. It is coated with a thin layer of gold.

Automatically Uploads Qik Videoes to Facebook

Now Qik users are able to automatically upload their videos to Facebook, and they adjust their position of messages to link to the video on Qik.
