Technology.am (Nov 24, 2009) — Hewlett-Packard Co. reported personal-computer sales that topped several analysts’ estimates after the business took market share from Dell Inc. and benefited from rising and falling demand in China.
PC sales in the fourth quarter finished Oct. 31 were $9.86 billion, a 12 percent fall from a year in advance and a 17 percent boost from the preceding three months, Hewlett-Packard said today in an announcement.

Dell Introduces Vostro All In One Desktop

Technology.am (July 17, 2009) — Dell introduced its first integrated desktop model to its Vostro line-up in the form of the Vostro All In One, at a relatively low price.
Dell hopes to attract small businesses looking for an attractive computer that takes up a minimum amount of desktop space. Dell claims the Vostro can take up as little as a fifth of the space of other PCs.

Dell’s Latest Latitude 2100: A Kid-Centric Netbook

Technology.am (May 20, 2009) — Dell is planning to launch the Latitude 2100 a kid centric netbook.
The netbook weighs approximately 2.9 pounds and measures 10.4 by 7.3 by 5.7 inches. And if you don’t want your kids lugging that around, Dell proposes a solution for your school: a custom-designed computer carrying cart to slot-load and store 24 netbooks. Dell Launches ‘Della’ Web Site for Women

Technology.am (May 15, 2009) — Dell Launches ‘Della’ Web Site for Women Dell last week launched a cutesy site for women called “Della,” and ‘cute’ netbooks.
Netbooks and laptops are presented as fashion statements, and the site’s “tech tips” includes a feature, “Seven Unexpected Ways a Netbook Can Change Your Life,” which starts out by saying, “Once you get beyond how cute they are, you’ll find that netbooks can do a lot more than check your e-mail.”

Time to Launch the Dell’s MacBook Air Killer

Finally Dell is expected to launch the mysterious Adamo that is also called “luxury” laptop. It could be the PC maker’s response to ultra-thin laptops including Apple’s stylish MacBook Air. The starting price is at around $2000. The target users are not normal buyers.

The company is selling its lowest-spec Mini 9n, offering 512MB of memory and Ubuntu Linux installed on a 4GB SSD, for just $249. That is $100 less for one that went for last September. Want Windows?
