All about Deals, deals, deals: Microsoft’s Windows 7 launch

Technology.am (Oct 20, 2009) — With the launch of Windows 7, Microsoft is going back to its fundamentals. It’s too accurate of how Microsoft plans to initiate the latest operating system on Thursday.
Instead of going in for flash, the company is paying attention on making certain that all of its partners are prepared to trade plenty of PCs and copies of Windows 7.

Microsoft Marketplace with Remote Software ‘Kill-Switch’

Technology.am (Sept. 19, 2009) — Microsoft confirmed that it will install a remote “kill switch” in Windows Marketplace for Mobile app store, which will remove software from users’ handsets remotely.
The Windows Marketplace for Mobile is a new feature that is being introduced with Windows phones based on Windows Mobile 6.5, launching from early October.
Now Windows Marketplace for Mobile allow users to find apps directly from their mobile devices, as well as managing download and install without having a PC.

Windows Mobile 6.5 phones hit stores October 6t

Technology.am (Sept. 02, 2009) — Microsoft announced that smartphones running its latest version of operating system Windows Mobile 6.5 to compete with Apple’s iPhone and Google Android will be widely available at retail stores worldwide on Oct. 6.
The new operating system Windows Mobile 6.5 includes an upgraded Internet Explorer mobile browser for phones making easier to use on touch-screen devices.

Microsoft adds App Access to Non-Smart Phones

Technology.am (Aug. 25, 2009) — Microsoft has released OneApp program, a new mobile software tool designed to add smartphone like features such as internet access to conventional handsets, which is aimed at developing countries where cheaper phones and pre-paid services are the norm.
OneApp has launched with over a dozen applications including stock tracker, RSS reader, sports news, mobile transactions, news and weather.
It would appear as a single application that can easily access all mobile apps.

Microsoft, Amazon and Yahoo unite against Google Book Search

Technology.am (Aug. 21, 2009) — Microsoft, Yahoo and Amazon have banded together against a legal settlement between Google and the Authors Guild and the Association of American Publishers.
They have signed on a coalition, called Open Book Alliance that will oppose to Google’s digital book ambitions, which will also persuade a US federal judge to think whether Google is in breach of competition laws.
The settlement would allow Google to continue to digitize millions of out-of-print books, with the help of several of the nation’s largest libraries.

Windows 7 to Support Dolby Digital Plus

Microsoft LifeCam Cinema goes 720p

Microsoft unveiled the LifeCam Cinema HD webcam, which is the first consumer webcam to support 1,280 x 720 HD resolutions at 30 frames per second.
The other features include a glass lens, auto focus, 4x digital zoom and a digital, noise-cancelling microphone.
