Technology.am (Dec 15, 2009) — India’s second-largest software services exporter, Infosys Technologies, has announced the opening of a completely owned subsidiary in Brazil.
The first development center of the subsidiary situated in Belo Horizonte, the third largest metropolitan region in Brazil after Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, will present Infosys’ absolute group of services to Brazilian clients and Brazilian subsidiaries of worldwide customers.

Technology.am (Dec. 08, 2009) — Seagate is making a delayed although potentially market-changing entry into the solid-state drives marketplace. Solid-state drives are usually quicker than hard-disk drives, predominantly at retrieving data, and have won restricted approval in the laptop market. Seagate, though, is targeting the more profitable and potentially larger server market and will contend with likes of Intel, Micron Technology, Samsung, and STEC.

Technology.am (Dec. 08, 2009) — Google is taking authorized action to end companies from supposedly using the search giant’s name to trap public into paying for supposed work-at-home kits advertised online and in e-mails.
The company filed a court case on Monday in federal court in Salt Lake City in opposition to Pacific WebWorks and other, unidentified defendants alleging trademark infringement and dilution, unjust competition, federal cyber piracy, and infringement of customer sales practices. The lawsuit can be amended to include the names of further defendants as they are exposed.

Technology.am (Dec. 08, 2009) — Hewlett-Packard plans to improve its sales force to carry on winning clients and gets better the way it pitches computers and associated services to corporations, Executive Vice President Ann Livermore said.
The company will employ from services firms and in addition aim chief information officers with sales skills, Livermore said in an interview at Bloomberg’s headquarters in New York today. The company has over 24,000 salespeople, a 50 percent increase from four years ago.

All this can sound pretty foolish to us, taking into consideration it’s doing so well by now without the enormous overheads a central London store would bring.

Technology.am (Dec. 05, 2009) — A latest study in the journal Sleep shows that dream-enacting behaviors are widespread in hale and hearty young adults, and the occurrence of precise behaviors differs among men and women.
Results point out that 98 percent of subjects (486/495) reported experiencing one of seven subtypes of dream-enacting behavior as a minimum “rarely” in the previous year. Technology.am (Nov. 30, 2009) — About 10,000 people die of cancer annually due to delayed diagnoses, according to the government’s cancer tsar. The number is two times the earlier approximate for avertable deaths. Prof Mike Richards revised his estimation after studying the three deadliest forms of the ailment – lung, bowel and breast cancer.
“These delays in patients presenting with symptoms and cancer being diagnosed at a delayed stage unavoidably cost lives. The circumstances are objectionable,” Prof Richards told the Guardian.
