Taiwan University Develops Natural Sunlight OLED

Technology.am (July 20, 2009) — Researchers have developed an OLED with a color temperature range of 2,300-8,200k, which it claimed is the world’s first OLED that can provide light color close to natural sunlight.

natural-lightThe research team at Materials Science and Engineering Department of National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan said, by changing the voltage, the OLED can mimic sunrise color at 3,000k, sunset color at 2,500k, cloudy sky color at 6,500k and sunny day color at 8,000k.

They added that their OLED can be processed on a plastic substrate.
