Dell released the World’s Thinnest, Lightest 16-Inch Laptop

Technology.am (Sept. 30, 2009) — Dell is releasing the world’s thinnest and lightest 16-inch laptop, the Latitude™ Z that is less than an inch thin and starting at 4.5 pounds1 with a four-cell battery. It is targeted at entrepreneurs, attorneys and creative professionals.

The system includes the world’s first laptop with wireless docking and inductive charging, lean tapered design and soft-touch Black Cherry finish, a high-definition (1600×900) WLED display and 2 MP camera, the FaceAware™ Lock-Out that automatically locks out other users when a user steps away from the laptop. The Latitude Z is available at $1,999.

Latitude ON: – Instant, Interactive Access to Email, Web, Calendar

Latitude ON represents the convergence of laptop productivity with instant “on” convenience and multi-day battery life in idle mode.2 It includes a sub-processor and sub-operating system that delivers instant, interactive access to email, the Web, contacts, attachments and calendars and is available on the Latitude Z, E4200 and E4300.

Latitude ON includes Citrix Receiver that allows IT administrators to ensure remote secure access similar to a thin client, Strong password requirement meaning the user must include one uppercase, lowercase, number and special character, Dedicated Latitude ON button allows users to connect instantly. Latitude ON is available at $199.

Dell Precision T1500 ― the World’s First Workstation Built for AutoCAD and the New OptiPlex 780 Adds Advanced Management

Dell has extended its partnership with Autodesk to deliver the first workstation built from the ground-up to take advantage of AutoCAD’s powerful 2D and 3D features.

The entry-level Dell Precision T1500 is one of the company’s smallest single-socket workstations that offers customers an ideal 2D and 3D design solution for digital content creation, biosciences and CAD professionals and is certified for AutoCAD.
