Verizon predicts increase of ’slate’ computers in 2010
Technology.am (Dec 29, 2009) — Verizon is looking directly at “slate” computers as it devices to spread out its collection of offerings in 2010. In a conference, Brian Ullem, who heads up-and-coming devices for Verizon Wireless, discussed slate computers (aka tablets) and Netbooks and what these imply–and could imply–to Verizon’s prospect.
“I do believe that slates are going to be rising in quick succession in 2010,” Ullem believes.
Verizon is looking at the slate computer as a promising device that it would probably market, Ullem said.
And what might be in the interior some of these devices? Verizon is looking at Nvidia’s Tegra processor, amongst lots of possibilities. The graphics chipmaker’s latest processor is anticipated to be used in tablet or slate computers that will come to marketplace in 2010.
