AMD has added two Athlon II exploating with socket FM1: the Athlon II X4 638 and X4 641. Both models are four CPU cores with respective frequencies of 2.7 GHz and 2.8 GHz.
The Sunnyvale firm therefore continues to make chips without integrated graphics, or at least without it being functional. The technical characteristics (number of cores, frequency, cache, TDP, etc..) for these two new CPUs are reminiscent of the A4-3420 and A6-3670K launched last December. AMD should certainly sell well APU which the graphics would not pass all its tests.
In the details, the Athlon II X4 638 thus has four cores running at 2.7 GHz, 4 MB L2 cache and a TDP of 65 watts. For its part, the Athlon II X4 641 has four cores at 2.8 GHz, 4 MB L2 cache and a TDP of 100 watts.
Pricing level, these two processors are announced the same price: $ 81. The first glides two dollars more than the Athlon II X4 631, while the X4 641 is $ 9 less than the Athlon II X4 651.
