ASUS unveils Skype Certified Standalone Touchscreen Videophone

Technology.am (Sept. 18, 2009) — ASUS launched a new version of their Skype Certified standalone Skype videophone, the ASUS Videophone Touch AiGuru SV1T for unlimited video calling over the Internet. It replaces the ASUS Eee Videophone AiGuru SV1, which was introduced in March this year.

Asus_Touch_AiGuru_SV1TA key feature of the second-generation videophone is a large, 7 inch 800 x 480 touchscreen and an integrated webcam for greater video call quality.

This Videophone works with the standalone device’s built-in webcam, speaker, microphone and Wi-Fi that will allow users make and receive Skype-to-Skype unlimited video and voice calls, or use it for video conferences without the need for a computer. It connects directly to your broadband link over 802.11b/g Wi-Fi.

Furthermore, this Videophone allows users to make calls to fixed and mobile lines at really cheap rates; users can also receive calls from any land or mobile phone line if they have an online Skype number.

The Videophone users can also receive calls from Skype users who don’t have a videophone.
