Chinese Launched World’s Cheapest Netbook at $98
Technology.am (Aug. 17, 2009) — Lanyu from Shenzhen China developed the world’s cheapest netbook, called the eBook LY-EB01, which is priced at $98.
This netbook is powered by a 266MHz ARM AK7802Q216 processor which consumes low power and is less expensive than the Intel Atom processor.
The netbook has a 7-inch (800×480 resolution) TFT LCD display which runs WinCE 5.0 operating system.
The dimensions are 213.5mm×141.8mm×30.8mm, and weight is just 0.6Kgs which makes it quite portable.
The eBook LY-EB01 netbook has 128MB of RAM and uses Wi-Fi to connect to the internet.
There is an 1800mAH Li-Ion battery which keeps this device running for more than 8 hours as per company claims.
Other features of this netbook includes three USB ports, LAN port,
card reader, SD/MMC card slot and audio in/out port.
