Technology.am (Sept. 17, 2009) — A VOIP company, JAJAH has announced the beta-launch of its Twitter calling feature JAJAH@Call, enabling its members to call each other, free of charge to anyone in the world, by way of Twitter.
JAJAH@Call service lets user to place a call to any other Twitter user, who follows you on Twitter and both have Jajah accounts. The calls will be limited to two minutes.
JAJAH@Call service functions independent of the platform you use.
To make a call, send a tweet with “@call @username” where the ‘username’ is the Twitter name of the person you wish to call.
The tweet will cause both phones to ring, and the Twitterers will be connected without the service sharing either telephone number. It means it only needs Twitter username. It doesn’t reveal your number and it doesn’t need to know the number of the person you want to call, users can keep their phone numbers private.
