Clowns entertain audience with hilarious jokes and funny gestures. They are the kids’ favorites too. With their painted face, funny dressing and dance steps, they evoke laughter at first glance itself.
As far as children are concerned, they are the most lovable, huggable and trusted name in the entertainment world. They sprinkle love and laughter every where.
They have always been the most integral part of the circus. They offer amusement and wonder for the onlookers.
There are mainly three types of clowns that appear in the circus: the whiteface, the Auguste and the character.
But in recent times, another type named the tramp or hobo clown has appeared.
The white face is on top of the clown hierarchy and is the oldest. They usually perform as the leader of the group.
The white face clown uses white makeup to paint face and neck, and then, features are painted in red and black.
The Auguste or red clown is the recipient of comic doings. The Auguste uses red or flesh color to paint their face.
The eyes and the mouth are encircled in white and again features are painted in red and black.
The last type named the character clown usually acts like an eccentric character usually absorbs the role like butcher, policeman or a housewife.
