Nissan develops iPhone App to Monitor EVs (July 30, 2009) — Nissan plans to develop the iPhone app that will allow owners to monitor their car’s battery level. It is designed to be used by the owners when they are away from their vehicle.

nissan-iphoneThis application will allow the user to know how much charge is left in their car’s battery, how much time is required for a full charge and, for public charging stations, the approximate cost of a fill up.

The program will also allow the users to turn on their air conditioner or heater remotely to make the car more comfortable before they get in.

The system is still in prototype phase but that it could be unveiled Sunday
