Technology.am (Aug. 4, 2009) — Apple’s free MobileMe iDisk app is now available on the App Store, allowing users to remotely access files saved online via the MobileMe service.
This app is for users of its MobileMe cloud service and iPhone owners. With a familiar, intuitive interface, uploading and organizing files is as simple as drag and drop. Now it’s easy to store, access, and share files online by using MobileMe iDisk.
MobileMe iDisk is accessible from any web browser, Mac or PC. Free for MobileMe members, the iDisk app for iPhone and iPod touch makes your important files accessible anytime, anywhere.
Apple explains how the app is used. First log in with your MobileMe username and password and you’ll see a list of the folders and files on your iDisk. Then select a file to view it on your iPhone.
To share a file with someone else, just tap the share icon, choose your recipients, and MobileMe iDisk will send them an email with a link to download your file directly from MobileMe.
You can assign a password to keep your files secure and even limit the number of days the download will be available – all right from your iPhone.
Apple also reveals that files larger than 20MB may not be viewable (probably because of the iPhone’s limited memory).
MobileMe iDisk supports English, French, German and Japanese and can be downloaded for free on any iPhone or iPod touch model using the link below.
