Polaris cell phone Robot predicts your behavior, displays applicable advice on TV

Technology.am (Sept. 12, 2009) — Flower Robotics with telecom KDDI has unveiled a robot cell phone that moves on two wheels and gathers information about user behavior and communicate via a home TV set.

polaris2Polaris learns the user’s lifestyle by collecting data, analyzing activity, and identifying trends such as daily walking range, online money transactions, calls and email messages sent and received, then it starts predicting user behavior and display applicable “advice on a user’s TV.

Polaris consists of a mobile handset, a lithium ion battery-powered sphere that charges the handset and displays data on the user’s TV.

The sphere has infrared, image, and obstacle sensors, moves about 10 yards.
