Semiconductor Laser that Emits Green Light without using Filters
Technology.am (July 16, 2009) — Sumitomo Electric scientists have developed a semiconductor laser that emits green light without using filters. Sumitomo will be first to market in a race which involved competition from Nichia and Rohm.
This semiconductor lasers will at last be available for the three primary colours. The laser light has a wavelength of 531 nanometers at room temperature using a technique which involves gallium nitride crystals, said nikkei.net.
The laser has a number of applications including being used in TVs and in projectors.
