ViewSonic ViewPad 10pro Dual-OS Tablet Could be a Good Buy

In the midst of all those top brands that are pushing off their labs the most alluring tablet PCs, names like ViewSonic struggle to find a foothold. That may not be the case anymore. For, ViewSonic has lifted the wraps off a charmer that had been in the works for some time now. The ViewPad 10pro tablet revealed by ViewSonic  is unique in all respects and comes with the promise of a dual-OS feature that bundles both Windows and Android OS for the first time.


The ViewPad 10pro may be seen as a prime candidate for the top slot, with an Intel 1.5GHz Atom Z670 processor powering the device. It has the property to minimize the power consumption, there by offering an extended 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. Intel’s Oak Trail Atom Z670 is specially made for low-powered, fan-less devices like tablets and netbooks.

It is to be noted that the dual OS functionality and new Intel Atom Processor is squeezed tight into the tablet without demanding more space. Thanks to the Z670 processor, the tablet is comparatively thinner with a curvaceous rear.


The tablet is excellent in the display front and comes equipped with a 1024×600 capacitive multi-touch panel. A remarkable Full HD 1080p video playback, coupled with fast Internet browsing and longer battery life provides better entertainment options.

You can do all that you want without compromising on performance as it comes stacked with 2GB of integrated memory, which essentially makes ViewPad 10pro a deluxe mobile computing powerhouse. The ViewPad 10pro also boasts a 1.3 megapixel camera in the front.

As per what Michael Holstein, VP of business development, ViewSonic, says, the company in fact listened to customers before setting out on making the ViewPad 10pro dual OS interface as quick and intuitive as possible.

The partnership with Intel ensures that the slate delivers the latest across all fronts. The ViewPad 10pro providing good entertainment options would mean the dual OS experience in a single tablet would offer maximum advantages.

On the hardware front, the Z670 processor is packed with 1.5 GHz of power and Intel’s GMA 600 integrated graphics, 2GB RAM and a microSD slot with memory slot expandable up to 32 GB. It will also have a full-sized USB port, and a single headphone jack.

This high end product comes with in-built support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and as well as an HDMI out for viewing media on HDTV.

The dual OS capable ViewPad 10pro is offered in two distinct editions. One of them comes equipped with Windows 7 Professional and Android 2.3 OS and also includes a 32GB SSD hard drive. The asking price is $699.

Meanwhile, the second comes with Windows 7 Home Premium and Android 2.3 OS equipping a 16GB SSD hard drive. To sell for $599, this version has the option of a docking station that can be added separately for a cost of $59.
