Technology.am (Apr. 6, 2009) — Indian HCL Technologies and Xerox have announced a six-year data center outsourcing contract.
The value of the contract is about $100 million and it focuses upon mid-range services, business continuity and disaster recovery for Xerox’s information management operations.
Under the contract, HCL will manage data center hosting and migration, virtualisation, consolidation and storage architecture services across nine Xerox data centers in Europe and the US, with the additional provision of architecture and consulting services for new technology and system design, adoption and lifecycle improvement.
This Xerox contract is the third large remote infrastructure management contract bagged by HCL this year. Last month, it nabbed a $350 million, seven-year outsourcing contract from The Reader’s Digest Association for IT infrastructure management, application development and other services.
The company announced in January that it had won a five-year contract from Nokia for outsourced desktop management and help desk across 76 countries.
